Road Trip

There is nothing like planning a road trip to get your head out of the day-to-day blahs. As who you are with is more important that where you are going, I was really struggling with who to ask. Running through my quicklist of guy friends, I narrowed it down to two of the more mellow types. While I waffled between asking both or just one, I kept playing with the route which seemed to grow daily. Each time I zoomed in or searched the map for rec ideas, I found more places I had to drive through. (love those google drag and drop waypoints)

Just when I'd settled on a copilot, I had a crazy idea...what about my wife!

After a few dropped hints and some route changes (gotta stop to see the long lost pals in WA) and adding a day (what, were you just going to drive 24/7) and some major changes in sleepover plans (the dive turns into a dome with couples massage...? next night to a B&B ) she was all-in.

I think it will be a lot of fun and with the redbull, ipod and some great books, it will be a trip to remember. Not sure when the snow melts - maybe plan this for May? That gives many more weeks of daydreaming and planning.
